How does the process work?

Place an order for the number of cards you’d like to have graded. Once we receive your order, we’ll send the invoice and grading form to your email (please note: this email might end up in your spam folder). You can then complete the payment, fill in the grading form, and include it with your shipment.

We kindly ask you to package your cards carefully and send them with insurance (please note: shipping is the responsibility of the sender).
As a tip, place each card in a soft sleeve (a flexible plastic sleeve), and then insert it into a Card Saver. If you don’t have a Card Saver, you can use a toploader, but please note that cards may shift inside a toploader. If you tape the toploader closed, make sure it's easy for us to remove the tape—otherwise this may cause delays in the grading process.

Once the cards are prepared, group them together and wrap them with two pieces of cardboard or bubble wrap.

When placing them in a box, make sure there’s no room for the cards to move during transit. You can use bubble wrap or paper to fill any empty space.

What do we look for during grading?

We assess the following key aspects of each card:

  • Surface

  • Centering

  • Edges

  • Corners

These factors are inspected using professional tools, including a centering meter, UV lighting, and a microscope.

The final grade

The final grade is determined based on the four subgrades. We follow strict guidelines—for example:
The overall grade can never be more than one point higher than the lowest subgrade. So if your corners score a 5, the final grade can never exceed a 6.

After all aspects have been evaluated, the final grade is assigned. A custom label is printed and placed together with the card into the case.

The case is sealed using an ultrasonic sealing machine, ensuring the card remains in perfect condition.
During the grading process, we take a photo of the most significant damage (only if necessary). For example, if there’s a hidden crease that impacts the grade, a photo will be taken for transparency.

Once grading is complete, we also take final photos of the slab for our database. The subgrades will be published on our website, but they are not shown on the physical label of the slab.

Each Monday morning, you will receive an update via email about the status of your order. If you have any questions in the meantime, feel free to contact us at any time.
